The rhythm guitarist for Gary Clark Jr., Zapata became interested in music since he first saw Hendrix on Television and mimic him.

Influenced by the sounds of growing up in Texas he has cultivated an original style of playing Blues Rock. When performing he draws from different genres to make a musical rollercoaster ride from which the listener will walk away and say:

"I don't know what that was but I love it!"
